Ambitious Design Torpedoed by Missing Model

Graphic design for a workout DVD with two discs, an insert, and the slip cover. All were laid out using templates from Disc Makers.

When discussing this project with the client, we proposed to do a photo shoot instead of pay for stock images. We selected a location and brokered permission to the site, selected a male and female model, and coordinated the shoot date.

Unfortunately, the female model was a no-show, and being unable to find a replacement, the end result was to revert back to using all stock photography. Worse, the client didn't want to pay for the stock image that would have been used on the cover, so the cover had to be simplified and lost an important design element.

Had the shoot gone forward, the client would have had dozens of photos to use for multiple products, not just a single angle of from a single stock photo.
